People develop Linux "distribution loyalty" and Linux "distribution brand preference" for many reasons, but some people confuse the Linux distribution name with the Linux distribution software components that they have used and have grown to like.
Here's What Happens with Linux Distribution Names, Branding and Loyalty
People that learn Linux distribution ABC will often think that this is the best Linux distribution, simply because this is the Linux distro that
they know and know how to use - even thought the same software component that they really like, such as a Linux desktop, is also included in LOTS of other Linux distributions.
Some Linux distributions, especially the "major" (expensive and heavily branded) Linux distributions, want you to believe their distribution is the best and sometimes for reasons that don't make the Linux distribution any different from any other Linux distribution!
And this helps them to differentiate themselves from other Linux distributions that have essentially the same Linux distribution software components!
Linux Commands Training Tips: The GNU Linux commands are virtually identical from one Linux distribution to another. And the GNU Linux commands are a fast, effective and efficient method of administering ANY and ALL Linux distributions.
But Linux GUI utilities are usually completely different from one Linux distribution to another.
Some Linux distributions try to differentiate themselves from the rest of the "Linux pack" by focusing on Linux GUI utilities (and other "proprietary" software components - that are not really Linux software components) in their Linux training classes, so that you well become "locked in"' to using their Linux distribution only. Beware!
