Linux Distributions Training - What DOES Make A Linux Distribution Unique?

Many people are extremely loyal to a Linux distribution for the "right reasons".

They understand and appreciate the differences between the common Linux distribution software components that are available in all Linux distributions - and the Linux distribution characteristics that

make the Linux distribution unique.

Linux Commands Training Tips: Most Linux distributions contain thousands of the same commonly used Linux software programs - and if a Linux distribution doesn't have a Linux FOSS (Free Open Source Software) program, you can easily download it for free, such as from sourceforge.net (described in detail earlier) and install it.

These are some of the things that are worth being "loyal" to in a Linux distribution about:

the Linux distribution works!

- without having to spend forever "playing" with it to get it to work

- it installs properly, supports lots of commonly used hardware components

- and the Linux distribution software components included with the distribution all work together to provide a "bug-free", user-friendly environment and user experience

a comprehensive and easy-to-use installation routine

- to install the Linux OS and other Linux distribution software components on a computer system

an easy-to-use application software program installation process

- allowing you to easily search for and install Linux software programs

free linux software documentation (online)

- an easy way to search for help in the Linux documentation for using a specific Linux distribution

- especially when you need to search the Linux documentation for information specific to the Linux distribution

free Linux technical support - such as in Linux forums (and other places), for info specific to the Linux distribution

Linux Commands Training Tips: It's important to note that "free" Linux technical support is typically very slow (if ever), and often incomplete, inaccurate or completely incomprehensible.

Be sure to check the forums of the Linux distributions that you may be using to see the Linux distro questions that are being asked, and to see if the questions are ever answered - and also to see if you can understand the answers!

paid Linux technical support - fast, accurate, plain English, online, phone or on-site technical support

Linux help documentation from within Linux - from the Linux command line and from the Linux desktop

- user-friendly, plain English Linux help documentation

- Linux documentation that is NOT just in the Linux man (manual) pages

- the Linux man (manual) pages are enough to instantly send any Linux newbie running for cover!
