Linux OS Training And The Market Demand for Linux People
In today's economic climate, many organizations have limited or tight IT (Information Technology) budgets. Since Linux is free, it is becoming more and more attractive to
these organizations. This provides an excellent problem.
It causes a high demand in the marketplace for qualified people that know how to make Linux work!
System Administrators are needed in the thousands of organizations that are running Linux on both workstations and servers.
Software developers are needed to create custom software programs to run on the Linux platform.
There is a demand for technical trainers that can explain how to use the OS and the application software programs (a.k.a. applications) that are being run on it.
Technical writers are also required to describe Linux and its applications in courses, magazines, books and other publications.
After over 15 years, Linux is finally entering the mainstream. IBM spent over a billion dollars on Linux in 2001 and within a year had recovered most of that investment. Almost all of the mainframe computers sold by IBM in the last quarter of 2001 used Linux as the OS!
And it keeps getting better. The OS is constantly being enhanced by Linus and the developers that work with him. More software components are being created for it all the time. The companies that create distributions of Linux continue to provide enhancements for it and more and more application software programs are becoming available.
All of this increases the demand for Linux and the demand for people that know how to make it tick!
